New Project | Playful in the Peaks
In the heart of Park City, Utah, sits a home bursting with character and creativity. Meet Playful in the Peaks, a bold renovation project lead by designer Bree Lindhardt. This ski retreat just steps away from Deer Valley Resort, underwent a remarkable makeover, earning its name with vibrant colors, unique wallpapers, and standout design choices.
Join us as we explore the journey behind Playful in the Peaks, diving into Bree Lindhardt's process, inspirations, and favorite highlights of this captivating renovation. Here’s what she had to say about the project:
Tell us about the process of this project! What were the clients goals when you began the renovation?
“The goals were to brighten up the space and to give the house an overall facelift without doing too much structurally. The new owner wanted a home that not only catered to their daily needs but also served as a cozy retreat for indulging in their passion for skiing. Overall, they wanted to add more personality through color and patterns. A few of the biggest changes included ripping out the entire kitchen, redoing the mudroom cabinetry, and gutting the entire ski room.”
What was the inspiration for the space?
“This client really wasn't afraid to use color and pattern, so a lot of the inspiration came from that. Thanks to the lack of fear around bold patterns, we wallpapered almost every room we renovated.”
What were some of the custom items in this space?
“The kitchen banquette, the mudroom cabinetry, the theater room - almost all of the furniture features custom fabrics.”
Tell us about the bar!
“I LOVE the way the bar turned out because we were trying to maintain the view all while adding something functional. The glass shelves really enhance the space all while not taking away from the nature behind.”
What was your favorite part of the house?
“My favorite wallpaper was the theater room wallpaper but my favorite room is definitely the ski room! I love how moody it is.”
