New Project | Lucid Luck
We are so excited to announce our latest project - Lucid Luck! This project was a part of our Moondance development - a project of ours that includes 20 homes with similar finishes and fixtures. However, it was the final touches of custom furniture, art, and a unique color palette that gave this particular project its own distinct character.
To dive into this new project reveal, we interviewed the designer of this project, Owner and Principal Designer of Root’d, Melissa Crotty. Here’s what she had to say:
Tell us about the project! What was the overall inspiration or vibe when the project began?
The client really wanted a lot of green in the home. Specifically, she really loved the idea of something a little unexpected secluded in the mountains. Since the house is a bit modern, we wanted to add darker elements and details to help give the space another level of depth.
Tell us about the incredible wallpaper in this home!
The client wanted fun elements, something unexpected. She was willing to think outside the box when it came to the wall coverings. We love the felt Holly Hunt wallpaper in the master, Jamie Beckwith tile as a headboard wall, and the bold pattern in the powder room.
What are some of your favorite “moments” of this design?
The custom banquet in the dining room turned out amazing! I’m also a huge fan of the mosaic american gothic in the entry that is just out of this world. It is a piece of art that has been passed down through the client's family. I would steal it if I was a thief.
Why the name Lucid Luck?
Because it feels like a green dream! The clients were also so enjoyable and we felt really lucky to be able to work with them.
What are some words that evoke this design?
Playful, thoughtful, balanced, and methodical.
What inspired the fun artwork in this space?
The client! The client did all the art selections from places like Trove Gallery+ Julie Nester Gallery and we absolutely love what they chose for the space.
Tell us about the custom elements in this home.
All of the larger pieces of furniture were custom made to fit this space. The sectionals, tables, etc. My favorite custom item is definitely the banquette.
